Prep Work

There is a lot of thought and prep work that goes into a missions trip like this - much more than I had anticipated, but it's been good for me.  This is a great team and I think we all have different gifts and talents to contribute.  I'm looking forward to the chance to work side by side in the weeks ahead.

  1. YIKES! There sure is a lot of prep work!!! We (Karen and Rick) are trying to think of things that might happen on the trip...should he start eating a lot of rice now? Should he bring his own laundry detergent? Pray for peace for me as I contemplate the possible problems Rick will encounter. Pray that I would focus on the possible blessings that God has waiting for the team.

  2. I'm finally feeling like I can get everything done that NEEDS to be done before I go (maybe not everything I want to get done, of course). The suitcase is packed in draft form - and not overweight - so that was good. Now just trying to think of the things I haven't thought of yet, and throw those things in.

The church will have the commissioning services this weekend. . .getting close.

  3. Wow - 21 suitcases, 1 box (and 3 more suitcases to come) - at 50 lbs each, that's 1200 lbs not counting the keyboard in the box. But, in case you're wondering, we're taking over medical supplies, suitcases for missionaries, etc. - not just all our own stuff.
